I’ve been busy with freelance commercial work and have neglected my blog. Plus I had to upgrade WordPress and migrate to a new host, which I just completed this week. With the migration and upgrade complete I’ll be back to posting regularly. Anyway, above is a color comp, cut-out design and character design I put together for a music video treatment I submitted last year for Neil Diamond through RW Media. I didn’t get the gig :(

I was really excited and honored to be the Featured Graduate Student Accomplishment in the UCLA Graduate Quarterly. My work on my animated music video, ‘Dead All Along,’ was the featured accomplishment in the Fall 2009 Issue, Volume 19, Number 1. You can download a pdf copy of the issue here: UCLA Graduate Quarterly, fall 2009
Many, many thanks to Mary Watkins at UCLA :)

My animated music video, ‘Dead All Along’, performed by Ceri Frost, is featured this week on Channel Frederator on their Frederator Show along with an interview on the Frederator Blog.

The UCLA Daily Bruin newspaper featured an article about my work on my animated music video, ‘Dead All Along,’ in today’s paper, Monday, September 28th 2009. Ceri Frost, the musical artist, and Bill Barminski, of Walter Robot Studios, were also interviewed. I had the honor of having Bill Barminski on my thesis committee for ‘Dead All Along’ :)
Katie Meschke was the writer for the article and did an excellent job putting the whole thing together. Thanks Katie!
Also, thanks to Maryia Krivoruchko, the musical editor at UCLA Daily Bruin newspaper!
‘Dead All Along’ was created at the UCLA Animation Workshop at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television.

‘Dead All Along’, my recent animated music video, is featured on Juxtapoz over at their blog: http://www.juxtapoz.com/Current/edward-gorey-inspired-music-video-for-dead-all-along.
I’m really happy to be on Juxtapoz as I’m a huge fan of their art and culture themed magazine and admire many of the artists they feature :)
‘Dead All Along’ is an Edward Gorey inspired animated music video performed by the talented Ceri Frost.
Big thank you to Katie Zupann and the rest of the crew at Juxtapoz.
‘Dead All Along,’ performed by Ceri Frost, is featured on Cartoon Brew here: http://www.cartoonbrew.com/music-videos/dead-all-along.html.
‘Dead All Along,’ is an animated music video set in my version of on an Edward Gorey world. Cartoon Brew is an amazing site that probably doesn’t need an introduction, but it’s chock full of talent and inspiration of the animation kind.
Another big thank you to Jerry Beck!
